What is a Subcision?
This technique allows the breakdown of the fibrous tracts, peeling and releasing the skin of the subcutaneous surface. The term derives from subcutaneous Incisionless surgery, meaning subcutaneous surgery without incision.
What is it for?
This technique allows replacing the cutaneous relief by dissecting the fibrous septum creating a dissection area which produces a hematoma caused by vascular lesions.
It has precise indications in acne scars and gluteus depressions (injecting biodegradable substances) showing in the cellulite.
In the cellulite is common to observe patients with evident gluteus depressions on a passive form, or at the time of its contraction.
How is it treated?
In the first place, Dr. Rafael Spagnuolo infiltrates each of the cellulite holes, with local anesthetic in the periphery area.
After achieving the anesthetic effect, with precise instrumental (Dr. Rafael Spagnuolo uses a Nokor needle) breaks the fibrosis, allowing to produce a new formation of tissue and activation of the coagulation factors. A fibrous tissue will appear with the consequent expansion and elevation of the tissue resulting in the elimination of the treated holes.
How many sessions are needed?
Can be regarded that the greater the area (especially in the gluteus area) it might be needed a new monthly session or complement it by injecting autologous fat filler or hyaluronic acid.
What caution should be followed before and after treatment?
Before the treatment it is important to avoid, as in all injectable treatments, the use of ibuprofen and aspirin. Of course, those patients who for some reason are taking anticoagulant medication should suspend it the day before and the day of the application, agreed by their GP.
In the case of gluteus treatment on further extension, it is advisable to compress the treated area with antibiotic coverage.
The patient should be careful not to wet the treated areas and seek medical care and control between 3-5 days depending on the doctor indication.
Can it be combined with other dermal cosmetic procedures?
It is compatible with other treatments. It is usually associated in the treatment of the body related to anticellulite mesotherapy and in the case of facial treatment to associate it to mesotherapy and peelings.
What areas can be treated?
The most common areas of this treatment are the gluteus depressions that usually are quiet numerous.
The same method we used to treat acne scars, depending on the size of these, the needle we use to divulse (separated) the fibrous tracts.
Treatment of acne scars is more effective in circular or oval scars.
Is anesthesia required?
Local anesthesia is injected into the treatment area.
When can the results be appreciated?
The results are immediate. We must consider that the evolution of this treatment depends on the extent and depth of the treated area.
Has it any side effects?

This is a simple and comfortable procedure as it is an outpatience treatment.
How long is the effect for?
Overall, we can consider that definitively, solves the defect being treated.
