PLASMA RICH IN EPIDERMAL GROWTH FACTOR
What are Growth Factors?
Growth factors are small biologically active protein fragments, which belong to the group of the cytokines.
The platelets or others may produce and store them; this is the basis in order to obtained platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and extract from them the growth factors that act as biological stimulators.
The epidermal growth factors have a mitogenic capability (stimulate cell division) on the epithelial cells and fibroblasts among others, therefore regenerating the skin and acting by stimulation the formation of new collagen, resulting into a tighter skin, with fewer blemishes, less deep wrinkles, hydrated, smooth and radiant.
How is it treated?
The treatment with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF “Plasma Rich in Growth Factors”) is the latest rejuvenation system, based on the cell regeneration tissues of the face, neck and chest.
This system is currently fully developed based on achieving extraordinary effects by biostimulation and the production of collagen type III.
To obtain a plasma rich in growth factors an extraction is made of blood from the patient and plasma fractions are separated by centrifugation. Dr. Rafael Spagnuolo uses as an extraction method, Rengelab, from the Mediform lab. This ensures the sterility of the kit and the increased concentration of growth factors. Then the “rich plasma platelet factors” is injected (previously degranulated with the consequent of obtaining the growth factor) by mesotherapy, in order to treat the areas, achieving the regeneration of the tissues by acceleration and stimulation.
Areas of treatment.
Normally used for facial skin, neck, neckline and scalp (stimulating the growth of new hair), but it can be used in several areas, giving us the option of using it for a flaccidity body (e.g triceps area), to treat cellulite and to improve the appearance of stretch marks.
Is Anaesthesia required?
Local anesthetics may be used to cool the area before the microinjections, but is usually not necessary, as Dr. Rafael Spagnuolo uses The Mesotherapy gun that minimizes the inconvenience of the punctures.
When become evident the results?
It begins to be appreciated from the first week; they are progressive and have its peak at approximately on the third month, which is the time it takes normally the collagen to synthesize itself. The effectiveness of treatment and the time to appreciate the results will depend on the patient’s age, being faster in younger people, but they all see results.
The skin will look well-rounded and smooth with fewer blemishes, bright and hydrated from the inside, and most importantly, completely natural.
How many sessions are needed?
The results are seen from the first session, and an appointment is recommended every 4 to 6 months to improve and maintain the results.
It has side effects?
Being an autologous treatment (the patient is both donor and receiver) there is no contraindications and the side effects are secondary as a result of the punctures, so that a small bruising can be caused, edema and erythema the they tend to disappear during the day.
Any special care is needed after the treatment ends?
You may resume daily activities immediately. It is not advisable to massage the area after the infiltration. We recommend using sunscreen when sunbathing, always after the first day.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
It can be perfectly combined with other treatments that will enhance and / or accelerate the results, such as facial fillers, mesotherapy, botulinum toxin, radiofrequency etc.
