What is Sculptra?
Skin aging is manifested by two signs that typically appear simultaneously. The decline of the surface layers of the skin causing blemishes and wrinkles, while there is a thinning and disruption of the supporting tissues (dermis and fat), so deep wrinkles and sagging appear. Any facial rejuvenation treatment should start to recover the structure and elasticity of the deeper tissues of the face, until recently; this was unavailable to patients who did not want turn to surgery.
Sculptra is a revolutionary treatment in cosmetic dermatology, reverses facial aging gradually, thanks to its action of stimulating of collagen. Restores facial volume loss, returning a smooth and youthful appearance to the skin.
The effect is long lasting, up to two years. The result is progressively, after two or three sessions, the patient will start to see results in about six weeks.
How Sculptra works?
Sculptra treatment reverses progressively, aging facial, without resorting to invasive procedures or surgery.
Sculptra is injected into the dermis, through small infiltrations causing minimal discomfort, which can be minimized or disappear through the use of local anesthetics. Subsequently the product induces the production of new collagen naturally and gradually, so that the patient feels gradually a better appearance.
How many sessions are needed?
Three sessions are recommended on consecutive months. Obviously, each case must be evaluated on an individual basis by the surgeon, to determine the more convenient number of treatments.
After the treatment is finished, it is possible to perform maintenance sessions.
Sulptra Safety
The active ingredient of Sculptra is the poly-L-lactic acid (PLA), a substance which is a very attractive treatment because of its simplicity of application, its efficacy and safety profile.
Is a synthetic biopolymer, widely used safely in many medical devices, non animal, which does not require of an allergy test prior to treatment.
Sculptra is eliminated by the organism gradually and completely, without leaving residues in the body.
For whom is Sculptra
It is suitable to increase the volume of deprived areas especially to correct skin depressions, such as grooves, folds, wrinkles, scars of the skin, dark circles, and to produce a tensioning of the facial skin (facial oval, cheekbones …) from the stimulation of the fibroblasts.
So, anyone over thirty years old, is a candidate for treatment with Sculptra, as their use prevents progression of aging signs.

What care should be maintained after treatment?
It is advisable, massaging the treated areas 5 minutes, 2 times a day for 2 weeks.
You may resume normal daily activities immediately. Sunscreens are recommended after treatment. There is no downside effect in using dermal cosmetics or makeup products.
Can it be combine with other cosmetic treatments?
Sculptra is perfectly compatible with other cosmetic procedures, and indeed their associations with other techniques (botulinum toxin, peels, fillings, mesotherapy) get even better results.
