Electroporation or virtual Mesotherapy
What is the Electroporation?
Electroporation or virtual mesotherapy is a technique that encourages the penetration of active ingredients through the action of an electromagnetic frequency and high voltage.
It is a noninvasive alternative to conventional mesotherapy, with the advantage that needles are not necessary or cause any pain.
How does it work?
By the electroporation, the components penetrate the skin (transepidermal way) through disruptions in the stratum corneum, the sebaceous and the sweat glands.
The electroporation produces an alteration of the electrical potential of the cell membrane, generating a momentary deformation of the lipid layer, through a mechanism by rotation of the lipids (group of naturally occurring molecules), determined by the application of a high voltage, this induce the opening of the protein of the cell membrane channels, facilitating the penetration of the substances.
This way, the plasma membranes form a temporary aqueous pore that allows the crossing of polar particles such as various types of medicines, proteins, DNA, etc. The aqueous cell opening channel is temporary and the cell is repaired immediately after application, remaining intact.
What effect does it have?
The main effect of the electroporation is based on the active principle applied; there are several products on the market such as moisturizing, nourishing, antiages, depigmenting agents, tensioners, anticellulite, etc
It also reduces inflammatory processes, edemas and bruising. Increased collagen synthesis, encourage skin hydration and the cellular metabolic exchanges.
Applications
Adipose fat, cellulite, sagging, wrinkles, photoaging and stretch marks.
How to apply?
Before the application a cleaning must be carrying out of the area with a soft peeling to improve the treatment results, and is recommended prior to this , the application of micro-currents as they improve the skin’s response to the introduction of substances.
Advantages
The virtue of applying an electromagnetic wave, produced by high voltage currents athermal in contact with the body, there is no electrical current flow, and the substances have not been ionized, therefore, the risk of chemical burns is avoided. Therefore, there is no galvanic effect, it does not use discharge electrode, may be used with prosthesis and allows the introduction of hydrophilic (tends to be dissolved by wáter) and lipophilic (chemical compound to dissolve in fats, oils, lipids) substances, regardless of their molecular weight.
Can be used both in face and body!
It is ideal for people who fear needles or for those who might suffer regular heavy bleeding!
Disadvantages
It does not has the same penetration qualities, and therefore the same effectiveness of the mesotherapy, requiring, therefore, more sessions to produce the same effect, however a substance penetrates 400% more than if applied topically ( oral or through the skin).
Contraindications
Pregnant women and people with implanted pacemakers.
